Good morning. This morning
we're going to look at second Timothy chapter 2. But refuse foolish and
ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels. And the Lord's bond
servant must not be quarrelsome. There's a lot of speculation going on in the
body of Christ today about the end times. And sometimes these things do produce
quarrels like between the Republicans and the Democrats. While some of it may
be true, a lot of it is speculation. Whatever is going to happen, it doesn't
matter. We need to be ready to go in an instant; but also ready to endure for
the rest of our lives. Some people are ready to fight at the drop of a word.
But we are to be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with
gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant
them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to
their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive
by him to do his will. When Christians are fighting and quarreling about some
topic, it is causing a division in the body of Christ, and they are doing the
Devil's will. Just because you don't agree with someone doesn't mean you need
to quarrel with them. They need to come to their senses and to refuse ignorant
speculations. Stay grounded in the word so that you will know what is and what
is not of God. Father help the reader to stay grounded in the word; so that he/she
may know what is from You, and to be able to gently correct those in
opposition. Help him/her to lead by example.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
