Good morning. This is from
first John chapter 5. And this is the confidence which we have before Him,
that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know
that He hears us in whatever we ask we know that we have the requests which we
have asked from Him. The question is, do we know that He hears us; or is it
that we simply hope He does. That's how too many Christians live their lives –
hoping God hears them. It also says that we have to ask according to God's
will. That's probably why so many Christians end their prayers with – if it's
Your will. Of course there are times when we don't know God's will about a
specific situation. That's usually about a specific direction we should take in
our lives. We can't know God's will if we're not in His word. Remember His word
is living and divides between the soul and spirit. He can't divide if He has
nothing to work with. There is a thin line between soul and spirit. The
dividing is in our heart, not in our head. When the heart is right, the head
will be too. In most cases we don't hope that our employer will give us a
paycheck; we are confident. The same should be true of God. Father help the
reader to know what Your will is for his/her life. Help him/her to be confident
that You will answer his/her prayers.

Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
