Good morning. Yesterday we saw that Jesus suffered for us even though: who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously. How could He do that? We would be screaming our innocence. We would be refuting any so-called evidence. He even went to the point that: He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. He did not bear our sins so that we could do just as we please. That would have been a terrible waste. He did it so that we might die not only to sin's effects but also to it's lure. We should have no desire to sin. As always it is not just to keep us from doing wrong. He leads us into doing right. We are to live to righteousness. And then that famous glorious statement: for by His wounds you were healed. And of course those that do not believe that healing is for today say that the next verse shows that we were healed spiritually, not physically. I will take it to mean both ways. The word can mean either way. Now the verse they use to say it means a spiritual healing: for you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. Father thank You that the reader is healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ. Everything he/she needs is his/hers in abundance!
