Good morning. Speaking of the resurrection of Jesus: who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him. Since Christ has suffered in the flesh arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin. Now the margin says that it means suffered death in the flesh. Of course if you have died, then you certainly are not going to keep on sinning. The result is that we are to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. For the time already past is sufficient for you to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles (it then lists a bunch of bad things). We should be done with all of those bad things. They are surprised that you do not run with them into the same excess of dissipation, and they malign you. They think that you should be enjoying the same bad things that they enjoy. And so in order that they don't feel badly about the things they do, they say bad things about you. They shall give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. The Gospel has for this purpose been preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in the flesh as men, they may live in the Spirit according to the will of God. Father thank You that the reader walks in Your Spirit continually. He/she is a shining example of one who follows You. You bless him/her richly and grant all his/her requests.
