Good morning. John told
them that he did not write to them because they did not know the truth, but
because they did know it, and because no lie is of the truth. Who is the liar,
but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, the
one who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the
Father; The one who confesses the Son has the Father also. There are billions
of people that say there is more than one way to God. The problem is – they do
not go through the Son. In fact you're getting more and more people who have
been Christians for many years that are now saying there is more than one way
to God. Perhaps they have been listening to preachers who have been misled.
Another possible reason is that some friend or relative of theirs believes
that, and they want to believe that that friend or relative is going to heaven.
So they are making accommodations in their own beliefs to be comforted that the
friend or relative is also going to heaven. We dare not compromise. That will
make us unpopular and called all kinds of things. Sadly too many Christians in
the past have shoved it into the faces of nonbelievers. Of course that turns
others off, and makes them say that we are elitists. There is even a group going
around promoting "Chrislam", a mixture of Christianity and Islam. The
number one tenet of Christianity is "for God so loved the world that He
gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but
have everlasting life." Islam says that Allah did not have a son. We
cannot be serving the same God. Father thank You that the reader does not deny
the Son. He/she confesses Him to all those around him/her.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
