Good morning. Continuing
with those saying that ever since the fathers fell sleep all continues as it
was from the beginning of creation: when they maintain this, it escapes their
notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was
formed out of water and by water, through which the world at that time was
destroyed, being flooded with water. It is so amazing that everything was
created through the word of God: God said it – and it happened! And so if He
says now – it will happen! But the present heavens and earth by His word are
being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of
ungodly men. It will happen – guaranteed! And then an often quoted verse: do
not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day
is as 1000 years, and 1000 years as one day. Time does not affect God – just
us. We get anxious when things don't happen as quickly as we would like them
to. But God says it will happen – "in a minute". Now the following verse
is not talking about God fulfilling His promises to us (though it seems like
it): The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is
patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to
repentance. There are times when we want Him to go ahead and get on with it;
but if He did, there would be people (some that we even know) who would not
make it, if He brought everything to an end immediately. Father thank You that
Your word is true. What You have promised to the reader will happen in due
season. You are never late.

Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
