Good morning. Yesterday we
talked about we have overcome them: they are from the world; therefore they
speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. This is so true today
in many different ways. People say such ridiculously horrible things; and
people listen to them because the ones speaking and the ones listening are both
from the world. They actually want to hear these things. We do not want to hear
them because: we are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not
from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the
spirit of error. If someone is of God, then he/she listens to those speaking
the truth of God. And then those verses we used to sing as a song: beloved, let
us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loveth is born of God
and knoweth God. He who loveth not (bum, bum, bum), knoweth not God, for God is love – beloved
let us love one another. First John four, seven and eight. That's kind of
definitive. Do you love – then you're born of God. Do you not love – then
you're not born of God. Father thank You that the reader knows You and loves
the brethren. You answer all of his/her needs.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
