Good morning. Continuing with purity: everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness. The NASB has added the word "practices" to make it clearer. Otherwise it sounds like if you sin one time it's all over baby. You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. And so to keep from sinning – no one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him. Again the idea is practices sin. Let no one deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. Sins - don't know Him; righteous - know Him. There are those who claim to know Him even though they sin continually. They try to get you to join in with them so they don't feel convicted. But we have the following: The one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil. And what is the work of the devil – sin. Father thank You that the reader practices righteousness. He/she abides in You continually.
