Good morning. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. That of course is true love (I just watched The Princess Bride). God did that for us before we even existed. If God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. He demonstrated to us how we should love our brethren. Some supposedly Christians wouldn't give the time of day, much less their only child for the brethren. How do we know that God is in us? No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. How do we know that God exists; after all no one has ever seen Him? We know He exists because of His love in us. If He did not exist, it would be impossible for us to have this kind of love dwelling in us. How do we know that we abide in Him: by this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. Do you have the Holy Spirit – then you abide in Him and He in you. Father thank You that the reader has You abiding in him/her. He/she always shows love to the brethren.
