Good morning. We are back in Isaiah. This is something that is so prevalent in our world today. Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and clever in their own sight! They say that all those things going on today that are against the word of God are good; and all the things that we Christian stand for – they call bad. We Christians cannot bow to the pressure of those around us. We cannot let them sway our beliefs just to keep from being attacked. They are wise in their own eyes - and proud of it. They look down on us. They need to have Isaiah's experience in chapter 6. I saw the Lord sitting on the throne, high and lifted up, with the train of His robe filling the temple. When you see the Lord, you cannot keep on going the way you were. It will change your life forever. Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts. The whole earth is full of His glory. And then a verse that applies to us all. Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips. And I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King the Lord of hosts. How true it is even among Christians. It doesn't necessarily mean that you're speaking profanity. When we look at those around us and compare ourselves to them, we seem like good people. But when we look at Jesus, we know we are unclean. Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, "Here I am. Send me!" It doesn't mean that we have to become missionaries to some foreign country. He sends us into our own community; into our workplaces. We are to be the salt to make them thirsty for God. People are looking for a spiritual relationship to a higher power. However they are "looking for love in all the wrong places". And then a verse you've read in the New Testament. Go and tell this people: keep on listening, but do not perceive; keep on looking, but do not understand. They cannot find what they are looking for, because they want a God that fits their criteria. He is not going to change. They have to change with the help of Jesus. Father thank You that the reader is a shining example to those around him/her. He/she has seen Your glory and he/she exhibits it to those around him/her. They want to follow You because of him/her.

Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me

  Good morning. Paul then gives a list of a lot of things that he has gone through as an apostle. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. There could be many people that you listen to either in church or through the Internet or other means; but there was only one person (as a general rule it was a person) that lead you to Christ. Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me. He was saying that just like a child imitates his or her father, they were to imitate him. He says that again seven chapters later. Philip, who was one of the seven deacons, went down to the city of Samaria and began preaching Christ to them.

  Good morning. Therefore, those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Philip, who was one of the seven deacons, went down to the city of Samaria and began preaching Christ to them. This is the area where Jesus had the discussion with the woman at the well. Remember from Acts 1:8 that after Jerusalem, Samaria was mentioned. Samaritans were looked down upon by the Jews and considered more or less half Jews. A lot of the Jews of the northern kingdom were taken away and replaced by others who were not Jews. They intermingled with the Jews that were living in the northern kingdom. Even though Samaria was not far away, the disciples had not come there to preach the word before this. The disciples may have even thought that it was impossible for them to get saved, just like the Gentiles.
