Good morning. We are back
in Proverbs. Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge. We should be learning
from our mistakes. If God did not correct us, we would keep making the same
mistakes and probably even worse ones. But he who hates reproof is stupid. (I
don't think that's a politically correct word; but it is oh so true). A good
man will obtain favor from the Lord. But He will condemn a man who devises
evil. The root of the righteous will not be moved. After storms you see
pictures of huge trees that have been uprooted. I just recently saw a report
about that. As you get farther away from the center of the tree, the roots do
not go very deep. When the ground gets wet and the wind keeps blowing hard,
those roots give way. After a certain point, the center roots can no longer
withstand the wind and the tree falls over. However all of our roots go very
deep and withstand any storm. And now it's talking about those of you who are
wives; an excellent wife is the crown of her husband. For truly you are
excellent. Thankfully you are not like this: but she who shames him is as
rottenness in his bones. The thoughts of the righteous are just. Not only our
actions, but also our thoughts are just. For as a man thinks, so is he. The
mouth of the upright will deliver them. What we say matters. We should be
speaking forth our deliverance. You get what you say. The children of Israel
said "there are giants in the land – we cannot take it". They got
exactly what they were saying. Speak your deliverance! And evil man is ensnared
by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous will escape from trouble.
Are you wanting something good – a man will be satisfied with good by the fruit
of his words. There it is again; you can have what you say. And then one which
is true in general, but is very applicable this political season: The deeds of
a man's hands will return to him. You may think you got away with it, but in
the end it will all come out. Father thank You that the reader is excellent. He/she
speaks forth his/her deliverance, and will be satisfied with good by the fruit
of his/her words.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
