Good morning. We are back
in Isaiah. Trust in the Lord forever. For in God the Lord, we have an
everlasting Rock. In this dizzying world we need something steady to hold onto.
He will not be moved, and neither will we. The way of the righteous is smooth (sometimes
it doesn't seem like it though); O Upright One make the path of the righteous
level. He will flatten anything that stands in our way. Your name, even Your
memory, is the desire of our souls. At night my soul longs for You. My spirit
within me seeks You diligently. Even when we are asleep, we seek the Lord. And
now something that sounds like it comes from the 15th chapter of first
Corinthians: your dead will live; their corpses will rise. You who lie in the
dust, awake and shout for joy; and the earth will give birth to the departed
spirits. They hear the trumpet sound! It will come about also in that day that
a great trumpet will be blown; and those who are perishing and those who are
scattered will come and worship the Lord in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
Then a verse that we read about also in Romans and first Peter: behold, I am
laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a costly cornerstone for the
foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.
Sometimes we forget that for the people who wrote the New Testament, the Old
Testament was their Bible. They were just quoting scriptures. And I will make
justice the measuring line, and righteousness the level. God makes sure that
everything in His church and in our lives is perfectly straight. Your covenant
with death shall be canceled. Death will no longer have control over us! What
has happened to the world – the Lord has poured over you a spirit of deep
sleep. They don't see what's coming - what is the result of their actions. Then
something you heard from Jesus: this people draw near with their words and
honor Me with their lip service, and their reverence for Me consists of
tradition learned by rote. That sounds like a lot of people that go to church
every Sunday. "Well, I've done my duty and got my protection for the
week". The wisdom of their wise men shall perish. They twist the Word to
suit themselves. Father thank You that You make the reader's path smooth. He/she
walks in victory every day. Continue healing him/her and meeting all of his/her
needs.
When considerable time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous, since even the fast was already over, Paul began to admonish them to not continue, because he perceived that not only would there be a loss of the cargo but also of their lives.
Good morning. When it was decided that we would sail for Italy, they proceeded to deliver Paul and some other prisoners to a centurion. Notice that “we“ returns. Luke has not been mentioned during the entire two years that Paul was at Caesarea. I guess it is safe to assume that he was in the area during this time. We will leave out the names of a bunch of places where they passed. They had sailed for a good many days and began to have trouble with the wind. This was a warning of what was about to happen. When considerable time had passed and the voyage was now dangerous, since even the fast (Day of Atonement) was already over, Paul began to admonish them to not continue, because he perceived that not only would there be a loss of the cargo but also of their lives. The centurion was more persuaded by the pilot and the captain of the ship than by what was being said by Paul. They did not want to get stuck for the winter in the port where they were located. They actually were only g...
