Good morning. We are back
in Isaiah. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the
Lord God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation. That's hard
to do sometimes; especially when things seem so bleak. Paul said when I am
weak, then I am strong. That's because we are relying on His strength and not
ours. Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation.
Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the
people; make them remember that His name is exalted. When things are going bad
for our friends or relatives who are Christians, we need to remind them about
the deeds of the Lord that He has done for them and for us in the past. Isaiah
then goes on and talks about things that sound like they are right out of the
book of Revelation. He talks about God calling His mighty warriors to execute
His anger. Many people; nations gathered; coming from a far country; to destroy
the whole land. Every man's heart will melt; and they will be terrified; their
faces aflame; to make the land a desolation; to exterminate its sinners rom it.
The stars will not flash forth their light; the sun will be dark when it rises,
and the moon will not shed its light. I will make man scarcer than pure gold. That's
definitely not a place we want to be. In a later chapter he says: and the Lord
of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; and on
this mountain He will swallow up the covering which is over all the peoples; He
will swallow up death for all time, and the Lord God will wipe tears away from
all faces, and He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth.
Chapter 26: the steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he
trusts in You. When we trust in God, then we can be steadfast of mind and in
perfect peace. We know that it is He and not ourselves that is in control of things.
Thank You Father that the reader trusts in You; he/she keeps his/her mind
steadfast, and You give him/her perfect peace.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
