Let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels

Good morning. Last time we saw that Paul talked about people acting as the Colossians’ judge in regard to things having to do with the law of Moses. In addition to that: let no one keep defrauding you of your prize by delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, inflated without cause by his fleshy mind. We were saved to be free in Christ (our prize). These people wanted the Colossians to come under bondage to all of the rules and regulations of the law of Moses. These people portrayed themselves as less than nothing by what they were doing and saying (self-abasement). There are Christians, even today, who do the same thing. Usually it is a false humility - they are proud of their humility. He mentions the worship of angels. I know of situations even today where this has happened. I have heard of people coming back from meetings where they have “seen” angels. While that does happen occasionally, it is not the norm like it seems to be at these meetings. We will see next time why it could be that this happens to believers. Father thank You that our belief in You is not based on visions of angels, but in knowing You personally through Jesus Christ our Lord.
