Praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints

Good morning. Today we start the book of Colossians. Paul starts off, as he usually does in his letters, stating that he is an apostle of Jesus Christ. We (includes Timothy) give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints. That’s kind of impressive that their faith and love would be so great that people would hear of it. Because of the hope (of our resurrection) laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel which has come to you just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth. The gospel is the truth about the Truth. Remember that the Word of God is living and active… It isn’t just a story made up by man. The word also bears fruit: “some 30, some 60, some 100 fold“. Father thank You for the word of truth, the gospel, bearing fruit in us constantly.
