Through Him to reconcile all things to Himself having made peace through the blood of His cross

Good morning. Not only was it the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him: also through Him to reconcile all things to Himself having made peace through the blood of His cross, through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. The only way for man to be reconciled to God was by God Himself giving up His life for man. Dying on a “tree“ made one cursed; and so Jesus became a curse for us. And although you were formally alienated and hostile in mind (being Gentiles), engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach. The Jews at least were trying to be right before God; the Gentiles had no desire to do so. While the Jews might have thought that they had a right to be saved, the Gentiles were not even thinking about being saved. There is a caveat to the last verse which we will look at next time. Father thank You that Jesus reconciled us through His death.

Why are you timid, you men of little faith?
