Walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God
Good morning. And so why did Paul pray that they be filled with the knowledge of God‘s will? So that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Too many Christians do not walk in a manner worthy of the Lord; in fact their manner of walk is shameful, not differing significantly from those who are of the world. The object is for us to bear fruit. In fact Jesus told the disciples in the upper room that the Father would prune them that they may bear more fruit. It’s not just knowing more about God; it’s knowing God more. We can know a lot about someone; but until we spend time with them and know them personally, we really can’t say that we “know” them. Continuing: strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, (why?) for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience. We need to be strengthened with His power to attain steadfastness and patience in this wicked world. Father help us to walk in a manner worthy of You and to please You in all respects, bearing fruit.
