Good morning. We are back
in psalms. I will give thanks to Your name for Your lovingkindness and Your
truth; for You have magnified Your word according to all Your name. The
Septuagint has: for You have magnified Your holy name above everything. It is
the name of Jesus that conquers all. In His name, we have everything. And now
from the beautiful Psalm 139: oh Lord, You have searched me and known me. You
know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thoughts from afar.
He knows everything about us and understands us; and still He loves us. Our
closest friends do not know us as well as He does. You scrutinize my path and
my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before
there is a word on my tongue, behold, oh Lord, You know it all. Ouch! He knew
it before we said it. If only we would listen to Him, we wouldn't say some of
the things we say. You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand
upon me. We have a protecting shield all around us. No one can sneak up behind
us. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to
it. How awesome is it that God cares that much for us? It's all we can handle
just to keep our family in mind. While we are thinking about one, it's hard to
be thinking about the others. And yet He thinks about all of us continually. We
sometimes feel like we are bothering Him too much to call upon Him, but He
really does care about us. Father thank You that You care about the reader
intimately. You think about him/her when he/she rises up and when he/she sits
down; even when he/she lays down at night. You guide him/her and protect him/her
all around. Such a thought is too wonderful for us.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
