Good morning. Back to
Romans: for if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the
death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His
life. We were reconciled to God, not the other way around. We are the ones that
left. We were reconciled to God through the death of Jesus. That is awesome in
itself! But we needed more. We needed Him to rise from the dead so that we
could have life in ourselves. It then talks about "through one man, Adam,
sin and death came into the world to all men. But the free gift is not like the
transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more
did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ,
abound to the many". In both cases what one man did affected millions. One
for bad, the other for good. Judgment arose from the one transgression, but the
free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. Because of
the one, we have death, and with that came fear of death; because there was
only expectation of something bad happening after that. Now we have expectation
of something great happening after death. Thus we are not to fear death. Much
more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness
will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. We didn't just receive a
little grace, we received an abundance of grace. We are also righteous in God's
eyes. We are supposed to reign in life. Too many times we don't act like it
though. Too many Christians act like they're barely going to make it. Who would
want to become a Christian, if that's the way the Christian life is? Before
Jesus sin reigned in death. The reason was - so Grace might reign through
righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. So eternal life is
not our goal – it is our destiny. Father thank You for Your protection from the
storm. Thank You that the reader has received the abundance of grace and the
gift of righteousness so that he/she reigns in life.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
