Good morning. Now Peter and John
were going up to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer. My Bible
says that they were three times of the day for prayer. One of these was the
ninth hour, which is 3 PM. Another was the third hour, 9 AM – which is when the
Holy Spirit came into the upper room. The fact that 9 AM was one of the hours
of prayer means it could’ve been the temple and not the upper room; however
they were still afraid of the Jews, so they may have been afraid to go to the
temple - instead stayed in the upper room to pray. And a man who had been lame
from his mother’s womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down
every day at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful, in order to beg
alms of those who were entering the temple. When he saw Peter and John about to
go into the temple, he began asking to receive alms. But Peter, along with
John, fixed his gaze on him and said, look at us! And he began to give them his
attention, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter began to sing
that song we used to sing – Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have
give I thee. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk 😇
. And of course he started walking and leaping and praising God… Now a
lot of people saw this happening and knew that this man had been lame and now
was healed. God performed this miracle which gave Peter the perfect opportunity
to proclaim the gospel to all those who were there. Father thank You that You
perform miracles, not just to proclaim the gospel, but because You love us!
Perform any miracles that the reader and his/her

Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me
Good morning. Paul then gives a list of a lot of things that he has gone through as an apostle. I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children. For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel. There could be many people that you listen to either in church or through the Internet or other means; but there was only one person (as a general rule it was a person) that lead you to Christ. Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me. He was saying that just like a child imitates his or her father, they were to imitate him. He says that again seven chapters later. Since it is easy to forget some things about people we have not seen in a while, Paul says that he sent Timothy to them to remind them of his ways which are in Christ, just as he taught everywhere in every church. Some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. I shall find ou...
