Good morning. At the hands of the apostles many signs and
wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord
in Solomon’s portico. It does not say whether the signs and wonders were
helping God’s people, or if they were helping nonbelievers, and that brought
them to Jesus. My guess is that it was both. You don’t need a great health
insurance, if you have God healing you. Notice that they were all with one
accord. Sadly that is not the case in today’s churches. But probably as a
result of the death of Ananias and his wife, none of the rest dared to
associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem. And all the
more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added
to their number, to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the
streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least
his shadow might fall on any one of them. Forget about sending in money for a
prayer cloth; it only took Peter’s shadow to heal them (actually it does not
say that they were healed, but I assume that they were; otherwise, why would
they keep doing it?). It would’ve been all too easy for Peter to get conceited
and think that he was doing it, and that he was the star of the whole thing. If
it happened today, the one whose shadow healed people would feel that way. Also
the people from the cities in the vicinity of Jerusalem were coming together,
bringing people who were sick or afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were
all being healed. That would seem to support the idea that Peter’s shadow
falling upon them brought healing. Father help this to be a great day for the
reader and his/her family. Bring healing to them all.
Unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God
Good morning. While Jesus was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name, observing His signs which He was doing. Jesus was not entrusting Himself to them, for He knew all men. Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. It doesn’t say, but I assume it is still during this time of the Passover. This man came to Jesus by night. Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do the signs that You do unless God is with him. It just said that the people believed in His name because of the signs He was doing; yet it does not say what those signs were. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. That is why unbelievers cannot tell what is of the kingdom of God and what is not – they’re not born again. Nicodemus doesn’t have a clue. How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he? Unless one is born of water and the Spirit ...
