Good morning. Starting
with verse 13 of chapter 4 in first Thessalonians: but we do not want you to be
uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve, as
do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. It then
goes on and talks about the dead in Christ rising first and those who are alive
after that. Verse 18: therefore comfort one another with these words. Verse 10
of Chapter 5: whether we are awake or sleep, we may live together with him.
Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you are also
doing. It's been years since my parents died, so I can be comforted with those
words. I don't know how much those words would comfort you, if it's only been a
short time for you. I'm sure it's still very painful. I don't see signs of my
parents every day; but I'm sure you do of your loved one. I'm not reminded of
them every day. I don't say "if only you were still alive". Try to
remember it's not all over yet. God still has great plans for you. He will help
you make it through every situation. I don't have the right words to comfort
you but God does. Father in Jesus name comfort the reader today and every day.
Help her/him to keep her/his eyes on you only. Help her/him to discover what
great thing you have for her/him in the future.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
