Good morning. We are going to go back and look at Hannah the mother of Samuel. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to give up your only child, especially after you'd waited many years for him. But it's even more than that. You see as far as I know, the wife got no inheritance. She got no help from her husband who died. The inheritance went to the children; first of all to the sons if there were any. Remember the widow's mite? There was no one to take care of her. Also remember the widow in the village of Nain whose only son had died, and Jesus raised him from the dead. He was her only hope to take care of her. If Hannah's husband had died, his other wife's children would have received the inheritance. They would've taken care of their mother. But Hannah would've had no one to take care of her. Even though Samuel would be her only hope when she got old, she still vowed to give him to the Lord all the days of his life. As it talks about in first Timothy chapter 5; she was a widow indeed who fixed her only hope on God. No man can be your hope (thank God); we would only fail you. I think part of the reason that Connie married me was that she hoped I would take care of her situation. She had two children and was living with a family. Of course I failed miserably. Hannah was an incredible mother who fixed her hope on God. And what was the result? She gave birth to three sons and two daughters. You too fix your hope on God. He will never leave you nor fail you. You are an incredible person. Father help the reader to keep his/her hope fixed on You. Make today and every day a perfect day for him/her.
