This morning I was reading about putting on the full armor of God in Ephesians chapter 6. I know you've heard a lot of good sermons about all the different pieces of the armor; but that's not what this is about. Imagine if you will a soldier back then. Every morning when he woke up, he had to put on the full armor. He could not leave anything out. It took time to put everything on, and it wasn't light. And yet most of the time he didn't really need it. But the one day he did not put it on, that would be the day of a surprise attack. We have to put on the full armor of God every morning, because we don't know when there might be a surprise attack. It's like they say about the terrorist; we have to be right 100% of the time. They have to be right only once. It all comes back to renewing our mind. And so this morning put on the full armor of God; and be sure to take up that sword of the spirit which is the word of God!

  Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. So he came and took away His body. Nicodemus, who had first come to Him by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about 100 pounds weight. Remember that myrrh was one of the gifts that the magi brought when Jesus was a baby. Also notice that he had 100 pounds of spices. Normally one does not have that much just lying around the house. Since most likely he was older, he may have been storing it up for when he himself was going to die. Or perhaps while Jesus was hanging on the cross, he went to the merchants and purchased it, because there was no time to do so after Jesus died prior to the beginning of the Sabbath.
