Good morning. This is from
verses two and three of chapter 1 of Titus: in the hope of eternal life, which
God, who cannot lie, promise long ages ago, but at the proper time manifested.
God had promised eternal life many many years before Jesus came. Why didn't He
bring it about many years before? Because it wasn't the proper time. Probably
only mathematicians can truly appreciate just how impossible it was for
everything to come into place at the same time simply by chance. Many righteous
people had been looking for the Messiah; but it wasn't the proper time. How
does that apply to us? God has promised us things; but they haven't come to
pass yet. Why not? There could be many different reasons; but the one we're
going to look at: it's not the proper time. When is the proper time according
to us? Now! We don't want to wait. We've got to have it now! Sadly sometimes we
do get what we want – but it is the wrong thing, or the wrong time. Sometimes
what we want is not what we need. Sometimes we are not willing to wait for Him
to put things into place. There are even times when He is "screaming at
us", now! – but we are not willing to take the plunge. We are still
waiting for what we want, what we think it should be. Trust me I know what it's
like to not be willing to wait; and I know what it's like to be afraid to pull
the trigger. In real estate it's location, location, location. With God it's
timing, timing, timing. Everything has to come together at the proper time. Is
now the time? Only He can answer that. At the proper time God will bring forth
what is best for you – you only have to be patient and look to Him.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
