Good morning. Remember,
you are special! Verses 16 and 17 from the third chapter of second Timothy: all
Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for
correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate,
equipped for every good work. If it's not inspired it's not scripture. And
because it is God inspired and living as the book of Hebrews tells us; then it
will do whatever 16 says it will do - it will teach us what we should do. It
will tell us when we're doing wrong – which people today don't want to hear. It
will train us in righteousness. We need training because we don't know how we
should behave. We are children with our training pants on. We still have
training wheels on our bicycles. Nobody wants to hear that we're doing wrong;
but we need it. What does verse 17 say it's for? That the man or woman of God
may be adequate. Now the word adequate doesn't mean just barely good enough. It
means entirely suited; complete in accomplishment. We are also equipped: that
is thoroughly furnished. There is nothing lacking! You don't lack anything. You
are ready for anything that the devil throws at you. So walk with your head
held high – you have nothing to be ashamed of. Remember that the grass withers and
the flowers falls off, but the word of God stands forever! By the way did I
mention – you are special!
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
