Good morning. I hope you had a good day yesterday. While on my way to church yesterday morning, I realized that I had left something out that tied in to what we have been discussing. Samuel was born at the proper time. If he had been born earlier, Hannah would not have given him to the Lord. Samuel would just have had a normal life. He would've been loved by Hannah; but he would not have become the prophet of God that he was. He would have missed his destiny, and so would the nation of Israel. If he had been born later, it might've been too late for Israel. God knows what He's doing even if we don't. From chapter 2 of the book of Hebrews: therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted. It's too easy to think of Jesus as the Son of God; and not as the Son of Man. He could have chosen to not go to the cross; and yet He chose to do God's will. He knows how much we want things; but He also knows what's best for us. It can be so hard at times to listen to Him. Father help us to listen to You; to choose the best way, not the easy way.
