Good morning. Look up your redemption draweth nigh. This morning we're going to look at the first five verses of chapter 3 of second Timothy. Verse one: but realize of this, that in the last days difficult times will come. Really Paul? From what some people say I thought everything was supposed to be hunky-dory and Jesus would sweep us away avoiding all the problems. These are definitely difficult times. The next four versus describe the reality of today. It sounds like Paul could see today 2000 years ago. Men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; (all of that is running rampant today as you well know), holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; and avoid such men as these. That is so true today. It sounds and looks like these people are really being godly. Don't say this and don't do that - you might hurt someone's feelings. Go to church once in a while; give some money to this charity especially if it has to do with animals. But don't make me change my actions or my attitude. After all I've done the right things and I'm in charge of my life. Thankfully we don't have to depend on ourselves to live the Christian life. It is God in control 100% of the time. He's in control of your life - just let go and let God as I said before. Father help the reader to keep his/her mind focused on You and not on his/her problems. For You are the problem solver.
