Good morning. Talking
about Jesus our high priest: He does not need daily, like those high priests,
to offer sacrifices, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the
people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the
law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which
came after the law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever. This repeats what
we've said before. And so we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at
the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a minister in the
sanctuary, and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.
Everything on earth concerning the law was a foreshadow of what was to come in
heaven. As great as it was, it was nothing compared to what was to come. They
served a copy and shadow of the heavenly things. But even though everything was
a copy, Moses could not be sloppy in his creation of them. God told him to make
it according to the pattern that He had shown him on the mountain. But now He
has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator
of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. Moses and
Aaron had great ministries and they served a great covenant; but the covenant
that we have is better and is based on better promises. Man needs a set of
standards by which he lives. Without them, he is lawless. Problem was that man
was trying to live it in his own power. The set of standards which we have is
higher, but we cannot live them on our own – we need the Holy Spirit to do it.
Father thank You that we have a better covenant, and a better high priest.
Thank You for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit Who helps us live according to
those very high standards.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
