Good morning. We're back
in the Psalms today. It talks about You who are enthroned above the cherubim.
To the Jewish people either God was far off in heaven or He was in the temple
above the cherubim. But to us, He is living inside of us. He is not distant. We
don't have to call long distance to talk to Him. It also says oh God, restore
us, and cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. God watches
over us, and when He shines His face upon us, the darkness flees and we are
saved from all our distress. Then: but I would feed you with the finest of the
wheat; and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you. God does not give us
the second best – He only gives the best. He gives us exactly what we need. How
blessed are those who well in Your house! How blessed is the one whose strength
is in You. In whose heart are the highways to Zion! For a day in Your courts is
better than 1000 outside. Nothing that the world has to offer can replace what
God will give to us. Being with Him is better than all the riches of the world.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield. He shields us from all harm. He shines
His light on our path. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk
uprightly. God is not playing keep away with us. He wants to give us the good
even more than we want to have the good. How blessed is the one who trusts in
You! Father thank You that You are a shield to the reader; that You light his/her
path wherever he/she goes. You only give him/her the best and do not withhold
anything that he/she needs.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
