Good morning. Psalm 92:
For You, oh Lord, have made me glad by what You have done. I will sing for joy
at the works of Your hands. How great are Your works O Lord! Your thoughts are
very deep. God has done great things for us; and we should sing for joy every
day. His thoughts are very deep. Things happen for a reason that we do not
always understand. And yet He knows how well they will work out for us. If we
knew what we would have to go through to get where He wants us to be, we would
never go. No matter what, we know "the righteous man will flourish like
the palm tree". They will still yield fruit in old age (of course we are
not there yet). As the old commercial said "you're not getting older,
you're just getting better". We shall be full of sap and very green. We
won't get brown and withered. The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are
a mere breath. We can't figure out things on our own; we need God's wisdom.
Blessed is the man whom You chasten, oh Lord, and teach out of Your law. God
chastens us by His Spirit through His word. We don't have to go through harmful
things to learn a lesson. We just have to obey His Spirit and His word. Father
thank You that the reader will flourish and yield fruit. He/she is attentive to
Your word; and obeys the voice of Your Spirit continually.
So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed
Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
