Good morning. Today we are
in Psalm 90. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before
the mountains were born, or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even
from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. I don't believe the human mind
can conceive of the phrase from everlasting to everlasting. I believe we can
project forward forever, but not backwards forever. We can think of things
going on and on; but we really can't conceive of things going in the past
forever and ever. To humans everything has to have a beginning. And yet God has
always existed. Even we mathematicians who deal with infinity have trouble with
that. It's not just a really long time in the past. Verse 4: For a thousand
years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the
night. At our age a year now seems like a short time. For God, who has been
around forever, a thousand years would be like a day for us. This reminds us of
second Peter. That with the Lord one day is as 1000 years, and 1000 years as
one day. Back to Psalms: As for the days of our life, they contain 70 years, or
if due to strength, 80 years. So teach us to number our days, that we may
present to You a heart of wisdom. To us 70 or 80 years seems like a very long
time. But we are to live them one day at a time. Make the most of each day for
God. It seems like the older you get the wiser you get. Actually it may just
mean that you finally learned not to put your hand on a hot stove burner. Let
the favor of the Lord our God be upon us. No matter how many years we live, we
need the favor of the Lord our God every day. Father thank You for giving Your
favor to the reader every day. Thank You for watching over him/her and
protecting him/her. You know what is coming in his/her future; so guide and
protect him/her every day.

Good morning. We left John at the entrance of the tomb, stooping and looking in. “Shy” Peter then arrives following John, and enters the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there. So the other disciple, John, who had first come to the tomb then also entered, and he saw and believed. It does not say whether or not Peter believed. For as yet they did not understand the scripture, that He must rise again from the dead. So the disciples went away again to their own homes. I’m not exactly sure what it means by their own homes. They were originally from Galilee and would not have had homes in Jerusalem. Perhaps it means the homes where they were staying while in Jerusalem. Apparently, they were not staying in the upper room, or it would have said so. But Mary was standing outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped (just like John) and looked into the tomb. She saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been l...
